I’ve been the librarian at Stone Valley Middle School since 2006. Prior to that I taught 6th and 7th grade Core for eight years at El Dorado Middle School in Concord. I also taught 6th grade in southern California. I earned my B.S. in Human Development at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, my teaching credential at Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena, and my Masters in Library and Information Science at San Jose State University. I have always enjoyed teaching and I’m fortunate to feel passionate about my job as librarian. I love helping students fall in love with reading and learn how to become discerning users of information in an online environment. I’ve lived in the Bay Area all my life except for the years I attended college. My husband and I have three children, two boys and a girl. We also have a dog, Chance, who is a rat terrier mix. Our family loves to hike. Some of our favorite hiking destinations are Point Reyes, Yosemite, and Redwood Regional Park. We also love biking, swimming, and camping. The picture you see is of my daughter and me inside the California Tunnel Tree in the Mariposa Grove from this summer.
