Bio
Welcome to Stone Valley! This is my 6th year here, my 8th year in the SRV School District, and my 11th year in education.
I hold several degrees including an AA in Liberal Arts from Diablo Valley College, a BA in Human Development from Cal State East Bay, and an MA in Education from University of Phoenix. I currently hold a Multiple Subject and Foundational Math credential. Recently, I realized a long awaited goal by completing a year-long master-level certification program through the Parent Coaching Institute and am now certified as a life coach for parents.
I feel at home working with middle-school students and watching them transform over the 3 years they attend our school. I appreciate sense of wonder they enter with and take pride in the sense of accomplishment and confidence they leave with. Additionally, I enjoy meeting new students and their families as well as working with families year after year as each child in the family filters through. I look forward to supporting the larger Stone Valley community navigate the middle school years and middle school math.
When I am not teaching or coaching, I am usually learning. I like to read books by Jodi Picoult and Brene Brown. I am fascinated by quantum physics, human relationships, and the human mind. I recharge by spending time with family and friends, listening to music, writing poetry, painting murals on walls (usually at home), and lounging at the beach.
Lastly and most importantly, I am the mother of two wonderful children. My 2 sons, Austin, 17, and Brandon, 15 are truly a gift and I have thoroughly enjoyed being their mom. Since I live within the district with my favorite person in the world, Richelle, the boys attend high school locally and are active in theater, tennis, 4H and various social action events. They often make guest appearances here at Stone Valley as well as my puppy, Roo.
