I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of San Francisco with a major in English and a minor in Business. I then went on to complete a Secondary Teaching Credential at the University of San Francisco and a Masters in Education at San Francisco State University.
I began my career teaching high school English in Fremont. From there my husband's job took us to Australia for four years. There I taught writing classes at the equivalent of our community colleges, and traveled in Australia and the Far East.
Returning to California, we moved to Danville and I taught eighth grade English at Stone Valley. After two years my husband's company moved us once again to the southern hemisphere, this time to Santiago, Chile. We spent three years in Chile, and were able to see much of South America.
Returning to Danville in 1994, I went straight to Stone Valley and knocked on the door. Fortunately for me, they were in need of a CORE teacher for sixth and seventh grades. I began teaching again at Stone Valley and spent the next three years teaching both 6th and 7th grade cores. Since then I've been teaching solely 6th grade core.
On the personal side, my husband and I have two grown children, a son and a daughter. When not living overseas, we always lived in the Danville area, and our children attended the San Ramon Valley Unified Schools. As both a parent and a teacher I have felt fortunate to be a part of this school district. As far as Stone Valley, I consider this school a precious gem; our students, parents, community and staff are sparkling!!
