STONE VALLEY MIDDLE SCHOOL ED FUND
Welcome from the Stone Valley Ed Fund! Stone Valley Middle School Education Fund (SVEF), an affiliate of the San Ramon Valley Education Foundation, is a non-profit entity dedicated to raising funds, through the collaboration of parents, educators, and the community, to maintain and enhance the quality of education and the environment for every student at Stone Valley Middle School. As a parent of a Stone Valley student, you are an automatic member with full voting rights. We hope you will get involved.
Each year the Ed Fund raises between $250,000 and $300,000 to support education at our school. Members of our organization are included in decisions as to how this money is spent. Since we work hard to raise this money, it is gratifying to see it spent – and to see the immediate difference it makes. The results are tangible. The fundraising events for the school year include:
- Class Size Reduction Campaign--direct donation
- Curriculum and Technology Donation--direct donation
- Corporate Matching Gifts
- Adult Fall Fundraiser
- Fitness Challenge--students run to raise revenue for our school
- Spring Ladies’ Night Out
Our Class Size Reduction (CSR) program funds additional sections or class periods for Core and grade level math thereby reducing class sizes.
This enables teachers to provide more individual instruction and feedback to students. In many schools this is diminishing but not at Stone Valley thanks to our parent community. These CSR funds are generated through a check-writing campaign beginning in the spring of each year through Registration in the fall. The program was able to fund 14 sections this school year.
Matching funds are raised through Corporate Matching Gift Programs so please be sure to apply for this benefit if your company offers it for any donation you make.
Monies raised by our fundraising events and eScrip have purchased MacBook computers, iPads, software, handheld devices for interactive learning engaging students and providing immediate feedback to teachers, interactive whiteboards, a washer, dryer and kitchen tools for our popular Foods elective, other technical equipment, books for our library, school curriculum and copying assistance, classroom funds, and more.
Ed Fund meetings are bimonthly in the Library. Look for the date and time in the latest PTA ROAR newsletter or on the SV School Loop home page “Dates to Remember “link.
